Slovenia is a small country, and Lake Bled is just half an hour from the airport via car or taxi.

We've listed some info on car hire, taxi hire and bus rides, all from the airport to Lake Bled.  Guests are staying in close proximity to one another, addresses for accommodation can be found here.

Getting to Lake Bled

Car Hire

We've used Expedia to hire some cars for the week. Last time we checked you could get a 3 door for around £120 and a 5 door for around £150 (for the week).

You can pick them up and drop them off at the airport terminal.

Taxi

A taxi takes around 30 mins and costs about 45 Euros (Just over £30), offering good value if you're sharing  and splitting costs.

The airport is tiny so you can't miss them as you exit the terminal.

Bus

The bus requires a changeover in Kranj and can take a few hours.

The buses depart once every 2 - 3 hours from the airport, and the same again from Kranj to Bled.

There's a new law where you have to get a code from the GOV.UK website to drive a hire a car. You need your license number, national insurance number and your postcode. It takes 2 mins, at the end you're given a code which is valid for 21 days to hire a car with. To do this simply go to https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence
